A Big Congratulations to Druk School! Celebrating 25 years of Excellence in Body, Mind and Speech!
From a small primary school nestled in an erstwhile Apple Orchard belonging to Proprietor Aum Lhaden Pem, now stands as one of the premium private schools in Bhutan catering to the aspirations of many elite Thimphu parents and in-service to Tse wa Sum offering high quality education for last 25 years!
Many inaugural decisions and actions were taken during my stay at Druk. Our maiden grade x students sitting for boards, first grade xii sat for boards for all three streams, we had set up geography laboratory, science labs and large library, we did resetting exercise to assess the various programs at Druk: we removed what didn't work and focused on what really mattered, large number of teaching faculty was recruited, artificial turf was laid, large classroom buildings were constructed and completed...and in one of the years we took care of 900 plus students on the campus....Because Dreams and Aspirations were Big enough! Thus many more first timers .....It was an honour and a privilege to be part of this special school's journey for at least 9+ years.
When we meet in the Assembly, every morning, we would sing the school anthem with pride of being a Drukian and with palpable joy in our hearts and contiguous enthusiasm in our voice, everyone would say these good-bye wishes: "Thank you for the Good Day, Have a nice evening and see you all tomorrow ", when each grade leaves for home in the evening seamlessly evoking the sense of belonging, being and becoming a product or Druk School, akin to an unweaving and geniune support system we anticipate from and provided by family back home.
Talking about products, the graduates of Druk School, we have doctors , engineers, lawyers, pilots,..and many in the making...All of them will serve Tse Wa Sum to the best of their abilities (We are the world of tomorrow ...Pillars of a rising nation! -A line from school Anthem ). We also have National crush, the heart trobs, the singing sensations and rapping maestro! You know who all I am talking about...Druk School must have done something really good during their formidable days Or at least Druk School didn't do anything wrong to turnish and belittle their childhood dreams...else we wouldnt have Sonam Wangchen, Androx, Sangay Wangchuk, Chogo! And many more.....this magic must continue!
Congratulations once again on this joyous occasion. Wishing former friends, colleagues, support staff and parents for another 100 years of triumph and glory! Trashi Delek to one and all!
